Slovenia has always strives to be a technology-friendly country. Many Governments have described Slovenia as the Silicon Valley of Europe, but so far there was no major breakthrough in this area. Now, however, it seems that the country with the advent of Blockchain technology of this ambitious vision is closer. The Government of Dr. Miro Cerar is its becoming aware.
For this reason, the Minister for economic development and technology, Zdravko Počivalšek, and a number of Secretaries of State of the Prime Minister, Dr. Miro Cerar, participated in last week at a work meeting at the premises of Viberate. Together with some other successful domestic Blockchain-start-ups, they discussed the benefits and traps this technology and the goal of making Slovenia attractive for the Blockchain company in the country and abroad.
The initiative for the cooperation between the Slovenian Government and the company was launched Viberate at the World Economic Forum in Davos, as State Secretary Tadej Slapnik, COO and co-founder of Viberate, Vasja Veber, a Round table sat – under the auspices of one of the best-known development companies on the field of Blockchain technology. The Panel discussed the importance of cooperation between business and Government in the area of the Blockchain-technology development and the creation of friendly ecosystems that foster the creation of innovative businesses. At a working meeting, representatives of Viberate, InsurePal, ICONOMI and SunContract the President and the Ministers presented their activities and discussed the obstacles they are facing in their operations in Slovenia. They underlined the areas where the Government can help to align against such companies more friendly.

After the meeting, Vasja Veber pointed out the advantage of operational activities in a small country:
“small is not always a disadvantage, and only a small country could allow a young company, to meet with the Prime Minister and four Ministers and direct to set out how the Government can help in the development of the business environment. Now is the time in which Slovenia has an unrepeatable chance, becoming a driving force in an advanced economy, and this should not be missed. I hope that this cooperation can be improved with the Government, and that we will really make Slovenia a target for Blockchain companies from around the world.”
What will receive Slovenia the Slovenian Blockchain Alliance?
At the event, the recently formed joint venture “Blockchain Alliance CEE” was introduced to allow inter alia a stronger penetration of new markets and facilitating the presentation of Slovenia as a global Blockchain destination. The economic-interest Alliance is also awareness, provide education, and advise companies who embark on a Blockchain way. At the presentation of the Alliance, Matej Gregorčič, CEO and co-founder of Viberate said:
